Terms of Service

Welcome to RingBoom ("RingBoom", "we" or "us"). These Terms are the agreement between you and us about using the RingBoom app and related services. By signing up for, signing in to or using RingBoom, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use RingBoom.

This English version is provided for your convenience. If it differs from the Chinese version, the Chinese version prevails.

1. The Service

With your permission, RingBoom reads your activity data from Apple Health and provides: today's rings and workouts, Power (an overall score), friend and group leaderboards, duels, group goals, the feed and stories, daily and weekly reports, medals, daily awards, workout heart rate insights, notifications and widgets.

All features are currently free. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will explain the price and terms in the app beforehand, and it will be up to you whether to buy them.

2. Age Requirement

RingBoom is intended for users aged 14 and over. If you are under 14, please use RingBoom only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.

3. Your Account

• You sign up and sign in with your phone number. Use your own phone number, keep your password and verification codes safe, and do not lend, transfer or sell your account to anyone else.
• Actions taken through your account are treated as your own. If you find that your account has been used without your permission, change your password and contact us as soon as possible.
• You can delete your account at any time in Me → Settings → Account & security. How your data is handled after deletion is described in Section 7 of the Privacy Policy.

4. Rules of Use

When using RingBoom, you must not:

• fake or tamper with activity data (including using simulators, scripts, modified devices or edited health data to boost your score), or otherwise undermine the fairness of leaderboards, duels and awards;
• use automated tools to sign up, sign in, add friends or send requests in bulk, or attack or interfere with our servers and APIs;
• post content that is illegal, sexual, violent, discriminatory, infringes others' rights or harasses others, including in nicknames, profile photos, group names or report notes;
• impersonate others, or collect or share friends' and group members' activity data or personal information without their consent;
• use nudges, duels, emoji reactions or other features to harass others;
• violate applicable laws or Apple's platform rules.

5. Content You Submit

• You or the original rights holders keep the rights to the nicknames, profile photos, group names and other content you upload. To provide the service, you allow us to store and process this content within the scope of the service, and to show it to your friends and group members according to your privacy settings. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account (backups are handled as described in Section 5 of the Privacy Policy).
• Please make sure you have the right to use the content you upload.

6. Reports and Enforcement

• You can report users or groups that break the rules in the app, and you can block them. We will review reports and may contact you for more information.
• If we find a violation of these Terms, depending on its seriousness we may: ask you to change, or remove or reset, the content (for example, restoring a nickname, profile photo or group name to the default); cancel related rankings, duel results or awards; limit some features; or suspend or terminate the account.

7. Health Notice

• RingBoom is not a medical device and does not provide medical, diagnostic, treatment or professional training advice. Heart rate zones, maximum heart rate, workout analysis and similar results are estimates based on your data, are for reference only and may be inaccurate.
• Exercise within your limits. If you feel unwell, have a medical condition or are receiving treatment, talk to a doctor first. Don't push yourself just to win a ranking or a duel.
• Leaderboards, duels and awards are for fun among friends. They are not an assessment of your health or fitness.

8. Privacy

How we collect, use and protect your information is described in our Privacy Policy (https://ringboom.online/privacy/en/).

9. Changes, Interruptions and Termination of the Service

• We keep adjusting and improving RingBoom and may add, change or remove features. We will announce significant changes in the app or on our website in advance.
• The service may be temporarily interrupted, or data sync may be delayed, because of maintenance, network failures, carrier restrictions, problems with Apple or other third-party services, or events beyond our control. We will do our best to restore it quickly.
• If we decide to stop operating RingBoom, we will announce it in the app or on our website at least 30 days in advance and explain how your data will be handled.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

• RingBoom is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that rankings, scores, awards and analysis will be completely accurate;
• we are not responsible for losses caused by your breach of these Terms, problems with your device or network, failures of third-party services, or events beyond our control;
• nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

11. Apple

• You get RingBoom from the App Store, so Apple's Media Services Terms and Standard License Agreement also apply. These Terms are between you and us. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for RingBoom or its content.
• Apple Health, Apple Watch and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. RingBoom is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.

12. Changes to These Terms

When these Terms change, we will update this page and its date, and let you know in the app about important changes. If you keep using RingBoom after an update, you agree to the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (for the purposes of these Terms, excluding the laws of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions and Taiwan). Any dispute arising from these Terms will first be resolved through friendly negotiation; if that fails, either party may bring a claim before a competent people's court. If the laws where you live give you greater consumer protection, those laws apply.
